My son, a sometime OPPO, was on a run on the “Snake” off Mulholland this morning. They stopped at a popular spot to rest and chat when this guy rolls up..

‘29 Duesenberg. Commented in typical fasion, “I was going so fast I blew the doors off it”.

Great guy—chatted with everyone and posed for pics.

I know it’s trendy to dislike him, but how can anyone? He’s the best kind of car collector and is not a total fucking snob.

I work with a guy who used to photograph cars of his caliber. Ferrari collections, Duesenbergs, etc. Really really high-end stuff worth millions. He told me that he was at some rich snobby concourse in So-Cal when Jay Leno rolled up in some super rare car. Wearing his denim get-up and with grease on his hands. He’s basically the car guy we all try to be, I just don’t know why people dislike him.

What is the snake? I make a ride out to Mulholland every time I visit my Girlfriend in LA, probably ridden the road you are referring to but didn't know the name.

Many people who express their dislike for Jay are doing so because they do not find his humor from the Tonight Show to be funny. That’s as maybe, but the guy is not his show, that was just his job.

Cars are his passion and that is something he is eager to share with absolutely everyone who he can.

There are few collectors who are more willing and able to share their cars with the public and see as easily accessible and approachable as Mr. Leno. He really is just a normal guy who is lucky enough to own a huge garage filled with wonderful cars.

This is also why he would not agree to host the US Top Gear. It would be his hobby becoming his job, which is not something he wants to happen. His YouTube channel isn’t as demanding as a full show would be, and I bet the TV bits he’s doing are also very laid back.

Ahh okay, then yes I have definitely driven on it. It's a fun place to cruise although there are definitely crazy people who treat it like a race track. There is also an In-N-Out right near the Eastern end. I have eaten there many times now lol.
